The amount of leeway given to Appple astounds me. They literally get away with doing nothing and influencers twist themselves into knots trying to justify Apple. I feel if Apple were not a USA company it would have been dealt differently.

When I was in school I hated group projects. Why? Because I'd be the one doing all the work and carrying the group project. My point? AI tools like 'rewrite' or outlines or generation of stuff is for my lazy group partners that didn't contribute to the project. Conclusion, I think the 'AI' Apple is offering is for stupid lazy people. Cool, it does a bunch of computations way faster than I ever could, wow, so does the calculator. So the world is investing trillions in 'AI calculators', great.

I think that AI is going to fail in the ordinary consumer market. Only very large and very expensive AI models catering to large business operations will have a future. Coding, IT administration, the military, manufacturing, service industries, securities trading, healthcare and similar endeavors will be completely dependent on AI in a few years from now. Many if not most people working in these sectors will need to reinvent themselves or face early retirement.

Apple has been releasing the same phone with a slight makeover for years and people are still lining up to buy it. Why would they rush and spend money to improve a product that sells well already?

I agree that Apple is not catching the AI wave but Dude missed a basic fact that iphone was not any smartphone back when it was released. How did he become the expert on tech?

Microsoft went through similar problems and did not turn the corner until its leadership changed. I think we are at the same point with Apple. By the way, in my playing around with AI in general it has a ways to go. It does an amazing job of gathering information in seconds and communicating it. Then it gets something wrong but delivers the wrong answer with confidence. Very dangerous. And, if Siri were a human assistant we would have fired it a long time ago.

the iPhone was the first smart phone. Straight up lying. And after a few upgrades it has literally peaked ever since. That was the gold mine (not AI ffs) and everyone else was playing catch up to Apple. Comparing Skype to Apple is how desperate these haters have to be to make an argument, besides straight up lying.
Keep hating.

Let's be fair here: Apple is doing nothing but trying to please investors' short term desire to make money: device seems to be just on par with other brands (i.e. Samsung, Google, etc.), AI isn't there, cameras are just ok and not outstanding. There are bench of ppl highly paid who don't seem to do much there.

Neglecting customers that much is disappointing, seriously disappointing, to that point that I m personally seriously considering getting a Samsung phone as opposed to that planned iPhone…

Do you remember when Apple used to do a small demonstration of its new features at each launch? Nowadays, they show a recorded video and launch things that don't work as well as before.
